Just when the summertime blahs hit, ballet saves the day! Don’t let your child miss out on the most comprehensive summer program yet! We will be offering classes in ballet, tap intro, and modern for students ages 3-5. The performance workshop will also offer professional instruction in drama, dress up, stage crafts, and many other fun activities. We will study a famous ballet, and the recreate the story through dance and mime. Students will be taught to express temselves through movement. All dancers will perform for parents at the conclusion of the workshop.

This is a great opportunity for your child to really advance in their dance training and to have fun. Students receive over 8 hours of instruction in just two weeks. This is equivalent to two months worth of training for many young dancers. What an exciting, quality activity for your young children.

July 9-20, 2018-M/W/ Th or F 4:30-7:30- 7-9 Year Olds (Lilburn Studios) $165
We will be offering classes in ballet, jazz, and modern for students ages 6-9. The performance workshop will also be offering professional instruction in ballet history, nutrition, variations, drama, and stage crafts. We will study the famous ballet “Cinderella” and then recreate the story through dance and mime. Children will be taught to express themselves through movement.
This is a great opportunity for your child to really advance in her dance training. Students receive up to 35 hours of instruction! Students who attend the June workshop will have an in-studio demonstration at the end of the week. Those dancers attending the July workshop will have the opportunity to perform in a mini-performance onstage with the company dancers at the conclusion of the workshop. This is equivalent to 4 months worth of training for many young dancers. Most important, your child will have fun while learning a beautiful art form.

Mark your calendars for a special week of classes. Acclaimed instructor, Samuel Chester, will teach daily classes in Ballet Technique, Pointe, and Variations. Advanced and High Intermediate Dancers.
Samuel Chester started ballet at the age of 12 with the School of Carolina Ballet Theatre (now Dance Arts) and danced for 10 seasons as a professional company member withCarolina Ballet Theatre. Currently he is finishing his 2nd season as a Freelance dancer. With CBT he performed soloist and principal roles in The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere, Petrushka, Don Quixote, Diana & Acteon, Le Corsaire, The Nutrcracker, Paquita and more. During the summers of 2006, 2007, and 2008, Sam was sponsored by the United States Embassy to perform at the 3rd, 4th, and 5th GALAINTERNACIONAL DE DANZA in Montevideo, Uruguay. Sam receieved high acclaim for the performances. He has also been invited to be a guest artist throughout the US and abroad. He has performed with SBC in their productions of Rockballet, The Nutcracker, Paquita, Romeo + Juliet, Le Corsaire, Les Sylphide, Cinderella, and Swan Lake. Recently Sam performed as a guest artist his 5th time in Fujinomia, Japan, dancing such pas de deuxs as Peasant Pas from Giselle, and The Sleeping Beauty Grand Pas de deux, Flames of Paris, Don Quixote and Le Corsaire. Also in his career, Sam was invited to Caracas, Venezuela, as a Principal guest dancer with Teresa Carreño Teatro. There he performed with the company in Carmen and also went on Tour and danced the Le Corsaire pas de deux. He also was the lead dancer in the Opera, La Traviata.

Josh Schadl, an Atlanta native began training at an early age. At the age of 14 he began taking classes at the Atlanta Ballet under the direction of Armando Luna. Through a partnership between the Atlanta Ballet and Kennesaw State University.During his time at Kennesaw, Josh performed with the Atlanta Ballet, The Georgia Ballet, The Georgia Youth Ballet, and Ballet Mississippi and Tampa Bay Dance Theatre as well as winning two national titles at the American College Dance Festival with a performance at the Kennedy Center in May of 2012 and June of 2014. Josh, an alumnus of Kennesaw State University is a double major in Spanish and Dance. He also studied in Taipei, Taiwan at the National Taiwan University of the Arts. Josh has danced with Ballethnic Dance Company in East Point, GA where he made his debut as the Leopard in Ballethnic’s production of The Leopard Tale.

Summer Intensive Workshop

The Lilburn and Grayson Schools of Ballet are pleased to announce our 21st annual summer intensive workshop. These classes are designed for the beg/intermediate through advanced dancers.
The workshop offers daily training in ballet, pointe, partnering, modern, jazz, pilates, African, drama for dancers and more! All classes are taught by a distinguished faculty of dance professionals. Guest instructors include Christy Corbitt-Miller (Louisville Ballet), Allison Geary(Orlando Ballet), Ralph Jacques (Atlanta Ballet), Ellen McCollister (Zoetic Dance Ensemble), Beau Foister (The Georgia Ballet), Theresa Howard (Ballethnic), Amy Morrow (Parkview Drama), Marcial Ibarra (National Ballet of Cuba) and many more still to be announced. Dancers will experience new choreography and dance styles in the late afternoon rehearsals. The program culminates in an exciting on stage performance at the end of the workshop.
Christy Corbitt-Miller is currently a principle dancer with Louisville Ballet. Ms. Miller began her dance training at Lilburn School of Ballet. She has been a principal dancer with the Louisville Ballet for over 12 years, and worked as a guest artist throughout the U.S. She has performed leading roles in Balanchine’s “Who Cares”, the Great Gatsby, Coppelia, Giselle, and The Nutcracker to name a few. Ms. Miller began her dance training at Lilburn School of Ballet. She has been a principal dancer with the Louisville Ballet for over 12 years, and worked as a guest artist throughout the U.S. She has performed leading roles in Balanchine’s “Who Cares”, the Great Gatsby, Coppelia, Giselle, and The Nutcracker to name a few.We are thrilled to host Christy this summer!
